Cambridgeshire Junior County Closed Results

What a fantastic weekend! Our aim was to make this year’s event special to help rejuvenate the championships and to give a boost to the Cambridgeshire junior squash scene by combining the championships with our “Best of British” festival. It was an amazing weekend and definitely a memorable and inspiring one for the youngsters, so it was amazing to see the competition have the biggest entry in recent years, with representation from clubs across the county!

Saturday saw the U9, U13 and U17 champions crowned across some closely contested competitions. Following on from the finals, the trophies were presented by the players in the evening’s exhibition; Katie Mallif and Lara Newton. The ladies then treated the juniors and their parents to an exciting exhibition match, before getting on court with the kids themselves and then answering questions from them in a Q&A session.

A huge thank you to all four pros for their time with the kids and for helping to inspire the next generation of squash players!

Congratulations to all of this year’s winners, runners up and everyone who took part. It was great to see plenty of juniors taking part in a tournament for the first time.

The weekend wouldn’t have been such a success without the title sponsor Instant Home making the whole thing possible. Thanks to them, we were able to make it a high-level event by providing each entrant with a high-quality Mitsa and bespoke trophies from Inscribed Gifts.
