Great start for the HCSC Women’s National Club Championship side last night with a against Leamington

The team hosted their opposition in the first of two group stage matches and with the win last night, have put themselves in a great position to progress to the finals weekend in June!
First on was Nadine El-Refee, who put in a good performance and showed signs of the level she is capable of throughout the match with some quality hitting. A great effort after the last minute call up; just a bit more match sharpness/court time and it could have been a different result!
Next up was the match of the night as Eleanor White came through an epic five setter to level the tie. There was very little to separate the ladies as they split the first four games but Ellie maintained a lead throughout the 5th with some great volleying and clinical finishes to take the match!
With both teams level, Sofia needed a win to secure a HCSC victory. Fortunately, she was up to the task and played some quality squash to come through in straight games. A solid performance and win against the former world #63.

The ladies next fixture will be away to Pontefract in late April/early May, where they will be sure to face some very strong opposition…
